Antler/Flower-crown progress

Yup, I finally finished it! I think it turned out okay I guess, the flowers are nice but I'm not too fond of the antlers. I'll still post the making progress though, just in case someone would like to try it out for themselves. I'm sure someone else could do this a lot prettier than I did. I believe in you!

Anyways.

I started off by shaping up the antler with paper and matte tape.

Then I just used the paper mache method to "glue" on old news paper scraps.

Had to remake one because the last one was bad u_u

After covering the antlers with news paper to desired shape (and letting them dry completely), I decided to smooth them up a little with some sandpaper.

Kinda smoothed out and ready to paint.

I really drenched them in white paint and I lost count on how many coats of paint I had to put on.

For the final layer of white I mixed in some raw sienna, because I didn't want it to be full-on bright white. Then I painted the base with burnt umber and kinda just faded it out.

I very gently dusted the antlers with more burnt umber almost all the way to the top, with a very dry brush and just a tiny drop of paint.

Measured out where to put the antler and then hot glued it to the headband.

Hot-gluing flowers to the headband. Lots of flowers.

Aaand i'ts all done!

Like I mentioned earlier, mine didn't turn out that good, so I compensated with a lot of curls. I'm still pretty happy with it though ^_^

I'll post more pictures of the crown later tonight!
